Plot

It follows a struggling high school heavy metal band of outcasts who take advantage of the town’s sudden interest in the occult to build a reputation as a satanic metal band, until a strange series of events sparks a witch hunt that leads back to them.

This show captured 1989, the satanic panic, and the style of all those old supernatural horror movies to the 'T'

Hysteria by Def Lepard, Heaven’s on fire by KISS, Speaking in tongues by Meatloaf, Can I play with madness by Iron Maiden, Die young by Black Sabbath, Mother by Danzig, It’s late by Queen, and Dance Macabre by Ghost.

At least I hope so

I suspect that when the network saw it, they had them edit out a few small shots that might have given away what the possible ending was so they could make a second season.

But having lived through that period, I can say that they did a really good job

Even though it wasn’t a comedy, it made me laugh at all the references to other movies in that genre, which somehow reminded me of Stranger Things, but they limited the jump scares, nudity, gore, and ultra violence, and still made a good show.

Hats off to the producers, directors, and writers

PS The cast is good and this is Brice Campbell’s second best role after Bubba Ho Tep.
